The internals of these NEW VDO Instruments are all 12 volt electrical.

The Speedometer, (0 to 120 MPH, now only available in Dual Scale version) requires either the hidden GPS antenna (available here as well), or a Hall type sensor (we do not use at BECK).  This speedometer can also be calibrated to any 12 volt square wave signal up to 350,000 pulses per mile.  there is a procedure for those who know the pulse rate of their sender, and one that calculates it by driving a measured mile (for those who do not know the pulse rate in question.)

  It is in MPH, but a KPH version will be available in the coming months. Please note that the odometer/trip meter is a small window at 6 o'clock position and is digital.

The Tachometer is electrical, driven from the distributor signal. 0 to 8K RPM (UPM), with the red area beginning at 6200. It has the turn indicator light, emergency brake warning light and driving light indicator in the bottom (6 o'clock position.) The DIN switches on the back can be set for 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engines. The proper setting for 4 cylinders is 1 - ON, 2- off, 3 - off.

The Combination Gauge has the oil temperature, the fuel level, and 4 warning lights, alternator failure, high beam indicator, oil pressure failure, etc.  This requires a fuel sender  - 75ohm-10 ohm, VW version, and a 250 degree F oil sender, (1/8 - 27NPT),.
